Legacy Scoops Maiden PR Award
Last Friday marked a key milestone and a proud day (and night!) for Legacy Consultants as we scooped our first gong at the PRCA Industry Awards in the Shelbourne. It’s a credit to the great determination and commitment of all our staff that we can now proudly call ourselves an ‘award winning agency’.
The sponsorship section is a notoriously competitive category at these awards and a big roar went up from the Legacy table when we were announced as the ‘Best Sponsorship under €50,000’ winners for the Volkswagen Sevens GAA Campaign. Along with a large media campaign with over 80 pieces of coverage around the weekend, the creation of a new digital initiative ‘Volkswagen Sevens TV’ was a key driver behind the win. The innovative #VW7sTV saw real time goals and highlights from the games run on Twitter throughout the day which enabled GAA communities from across Ireland tune in and watch the tournament online. And it seems they did as the tournament trended in Ireland throughout the day along with a reach of 4.5 million in one day.
The judges commented:
“The winner connected directly with the target audience. The sponsorship was simple, relevant and uniquely positioned to build strong links with the brand. Through creative execution and well considered media activations, they achieved results, on a much greater dimension, than might be expected. Within its first year all the objectives set were fully met and exceeded.”
We were also very proud to be shortlisted for in the ‘Best Digital Campaign’ category with our client Largo Foods for the King of the Hill campaign. The Legacy team were responsible for developing and managing both the digital and content creation elements of this unique and eye catching campaign that received huge engagement over the summer and lead to some outstanding results.
