Working across Volkswagen’s sponsorship portfolio, Legacy Consultants bring a range of strategic insight and expertise to their various properties. Since 2014 Legacy has produced and managed the Volkswagen Junior Masters under 13 soccer tournament on behalf of Volkswagen. An event that has grown into one of the premier junior events on the Irish soccer calendar with scouts travelling form the UK to watch the emerging Irish talent from the top clubs throughout Ireland compete for the title. The tournament is brought to life with a variety of event activations in the VW Village at the event.
Along with our work across the Volkswagen Tag rugby finals, the Legacy team negotiated a GAA sponsorship of the Volkswagen GAA Sevens. In its first year as sponsorship of the Kilmacud Senior Sevens, Legacy and Volkswagen scooped the ‘Best Sponsorship under €50,000’ award at the PR Industry Awards. A large media campaign with over 80 pieces of coverage around the weekend was complimented by an innovative digital initiative; ‘Volkswagen Sevens TV’ which was a key factor for the award win. The innovative #VW7sTV saw real time goals and highlights from the games run on Twitter throughout the day which meant the whole GAA community could tune in and watch the tournament online. And it seems they did as the tournament trended throughout the day along with a reach of 4.5 million in one day.
